Gölbaşı Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the launch of an investigation on the coup attempt. It was reported that the incidents in Gölbaşı were taken under control in the morning. At 6:18, 2 bombs were thrown by FETO member coup plotters in Ankara at the Presidency Complex and Presidency bridge crossing. Bombs fell on a parked vehicle in front of Millet Mosque. The bombs were thrown by pilot Müslüm Macit upon the order of Lieutenant Colonel Hakan Karakuş. In the meantime, the military helicopter that bombed TÜRKSAT, which was under the control of the coup plotters, was shot down in Gölbaşı. Around 06:30, Çankaya Palace and the Official Prime Ministry Residence was surrounded by a security circle and all the roads leading there was closed to traffic. Meanwhile in Mersin, the Commander of Mersin Garrison and the Commander of Mediterranean Region Rear Admiral Nejat Atilla Demirhan, who was leading the coup attempt, was detained.
