Emergency meeting at Çankaya Palace
Upon the clash news from the General Staff, a coordination center was established at Çankaya Palace under the chairmanship of Prime Ministry Undersecretary Fuat Oktay. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Internal Affairs called all governorates and provincial police departments and ordered them to stay on alert. The Ministry of Internal Affairs called all the police officers to duty and cancelled all leaves. Around 22:30, Ministers started arriving at Çankaya Campus. They started working on the necessary measures with the Coordination Center. In the meantime, security officers opened fire at the unidentified drones that started to fly over Çankaya Palace, with long barreled weapons and drove them away from the area. As it was not possible to contact TRT, which was occupied by the coup plotters, NTV was contacted at 22:56 by the directive of Prime Ministry Undersecretary Fuat Oktay, for Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım to go live on television.
