Kılıçdaroğlu exited from the airport
The airplane carrying CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was travelling at the hours when the coup plotters took action, landed at Atatürk Airport. Kılıçdaroğlu learned about the coup attempt after he landed and his first response was, “I want to return to Ankara immediately”. The tanks left the airport closed by the putschist soldiers after the long phone traffic of Kılıçdaroğlu’s close security team. After the tanks left, Kılıçdaroğlu went to Bakırköy Municipality Mayor Bülent Kerimoğlu’s house in Yeşilyurt, along with the group accompanying him. Kılıçdaroğlu followed the developments there from the media.
