8 military transport aircraft which took off without authorization from the 12th Main Air Base Transport Command in Kayseri Erkilet landed at the 7th Main Jet Base Command in Malatya Erhaç early in the morning. It was understood that two Airbus A400M and 6 C-130 military transport aircrafts were carrying 39 high-rank army officers, aircraft technicians and gunsmith sergeants along with ammunition. This team would load bombs and missiles on the F-4E 2020 combat aircrafts at Malatya Base Command to start the second wave of the coup attempt. After Malatya Governorate and Malatya Police Department officials detected that 8 military transport aircrafts landed at Malatya Erhaç without authorization, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Team, known as ARFF was notified. With the incoming order, ARFF teams started their equipment and blocked the paths to the runway. ARFF team did not pull their vehicles even when the putschist soldiers drew their weapons. This operation of the ARFF team prevented the planes from taking off.
