Most critical moment in the air, on the night of the coup
President Erdoğan made a statement after he landed at Atatürk Airport with the Presidential ATA aircraft. Remarking that they attempted to isolate his aircraft with F-16s, Erdoğan referred to the coup plotters as invaders and emphasized that the country could not be surrendered to them. After the putschist soldiers were removed from the airport, Istanbul Atatürk Airport resumed its normal operations upon Erdoğan’s orders. It was announced that all Turkish Airlines flights will start by 06:00.
