Coup soldiers in the General Staff were detained
FETO/PYD terror organization member coup plotters in the General Staff Headquarters requested negotiation to surrender. Coup plotters whose request was not accepted, began to surrender. After the vicinity of the General Staff was evacuated within the framework of operation preparation, soldiers from Special Operations and Special Forces were brought to the region. After the preparations, during the operation putschist soldiers in the General Staff were taken under custody. Istanbul Police Chief Mustafa Çalışkan said ‘the instigator is there’ and gave an operation order against Topkule Barracks in the small hours. The gates of the barracks were blocked by construction equipment. Putschist soldiers clashed with the police for 5 hours. 250 soldiers surrendered at 11:30. Soldiers were taken into custody after taking off the upper part of their uniforms and handcuffed from behind.
